Producing Your Own Work

Page Navigation

Event details

You’ve got a brilliant idea for a show…so now what? How do you get it made and in front of an audience?
This session will be an introduction to the key elements of producing your own work – including project planning, fundraising, and getting programmed. We’ll look at examples of real projects, with some interactive tasks, and time to ask questions about your own projects.

This workshop will be led by Victoria Briggs, a creative producer and theatre-maker who is passionate about theatre, and about its place at the heart of a community.

Victoria was Artistic Director of MAST Mayflower Studios, and has also worked for Battersea Arts Centre, Roundhouse, artsdepot and Salisbury Playhouse. Her adaptation of Jan Fearnley’s Christmas classic Little Robin Red Vest – a co-production with Filskit Theatre – will tour the South West this autumn/winter. Victoria is directing a new children’s opera – The Vanishing Forest – for English Touring Opera in the spring. She is collaborating with community groups in Southampton, Gosport, Salisbury and Eastleigh to develop Earth Mother, a new show about the climate crisis – supported by MAST, Wiltshire Creative and The Point, and in partnership with University of Southampton’s Sustainability & Resilience Institute.
