Watch a show and then take part in a 30-minute introduction to the world of technical theatre and its careers. Tech Tasters are delivered by our technical teams and visiting companies.
We will give a demonstration of up to five technical areas pertinent to the production. To support the insight, we provide a video resource and in-classroom exercises.
Available throughout the year, this package for KS3 and KS4 includes:
- A behind the curtain tour of Mayflower Theatre
- A theatre-based workshop
- A matinee show performance
Workshop subjects include an introduction to puppetry, musical theatre, Shakespeare, and pantomime.

We have a partnership with Open Drama UK, and together we have created Illuminate. Open Drama UK are teachers who programme opportunities and support for other teachers.
Illuminate is a full day CPD with practical workshops from a range of theatre companies. Join us to develop your skills and experience and take learnings back to your classroom.
