The Mayflower Theatre is a charity!

And, not a lot of people know that!

The Mayflower theatre is probably one of the best known theatres in the UK, certainly the best known theatre on the South coast and yet hardly anyone knows that it is a bona fide Charity in every sense of the word. We are a charity that is committed to preserving and maintaining a thriving theatre for the community and the continuing support of drama, dance and opera in Hampshire by the provision of quality performances which can be enjoyed by all.

Not only that, but The Mayflower, unlike most other theatres in the UK, does not receive any grants from local government, Arts Council England or other arts funding organisations. We survive on what we earn, donations from individuals and sponsorship from local companies.

What can we do for you?

The Mayflower Theatre has put together a range of Corporate Sponsorship options to suit all budgets and requirements which will offer a range of benefits including;

In addition to this we will display your company logo on all in house programmes (circulation approximately 2000 per week), in the events brochure (circulation approximately 480,000 per year) and on our brand new sponsors board which will be located in the theatre. We will also add a brief description of your company's business activities and a link to your company web site from the sponsors' page on our website and make generous discounts available to your staff and their families.

Through sponsorship of The Mayflower Theatre your company can offer top quality corporate entertainment to clients, rewards to staff and help your company meet any corporate social responsibility targets that it may have set by not only enabling your staff to take advantage of the discounts available but also by supporting a prominent local charity; The Mayflower Theatre Trust.

By supporting The Mayflower Theatre Trust you will be helping us to make a real difference to the local community not just now, but for many years to come. A donation to The Mayflower Theatre Trust can help us to ensure that there is always a venue for world class entertainment right here in Southampton, that the Mayflower Theatre can continue to promote the very best that both The West End and Broadway has to offer, can continue to help put Southampton on the cultural map of Britain alongside London, Cardiff and Edinburgh and can continue to be enjoyed by thousands of people for many years to come.

If you wish to support our Community and Education projects, you can give as much or as little as you like by either sponsoring a whole project or by donating towards one of the many ongoing projects. You can specify which project your money is used to support. Whatever you choose you will receive full accreditation; on all publicity material associated with the project, on our sponsors' pages and on our web site, as well as receiving invites to any performances or launches associated with the project. In addition, you will know that your money will enable The Mayflower Theatre to continue to promote the arts with young people across the city and beyond into the wider community.

Sponsor a Show

If you are interested in gaining more exposure for you company, then why not step into the spotlight and sponsor a production. Throughout the year we have some of the biggest touring shows in the world coming to the South's' biggest theatre. For these shows we produce thousands of fliers, posters, and programmes as well as running comprehensive advertising campaigns on local and regional radio stations such as Wave 105, Ocean FM, Saints Radio, Power FM and Original 106. In addition to this, for our bigger shows, television advertising campaigns are screened on Meridian TV. Add to this, press releases, press launches and interviews and you can soon see that sponsoring a production can give your company a huge amount of exposure across the whole region. In addition to that we can offer you;
